COURT PROCUREMENT GUIDE / FRANCE

Preparing a French venue for padel or glass squash courts.

France court procurement guidance covering public-access venue works, opening preparation, importer registration and squash renovation scope.

A French club adding courts or renovating an indoor facility should coordinate the equipment order with the building’s administrative and technical programme. A finished court does not by itself establish that the premises can reopen to the public.

VELNUZ Courts is a Singapore-based supplier of all-glass squash courts, glass back wall systems and padel courts, working with manufacturing partners in China. This guide combines linked official information with practical questions for your project team.

01 / FRANCE PROJECT GUIDE

Establish the public-access venue requirements

France’s Service Public provides procedures for establishments receiving the public, known as ERP, including requirements associated with opening after construction or rehabilitation. Ask the responsible local adviser to determine how those procedures apply to your venue and works. Official ERP opening guidance ↗

Discuss access, circulation and the proposed building changes before fixing the court layout. Agree who prepares the relevant submissions and what information they require from the equipment supplier. Avoid presenting product installation as the final administrative step for the whole facility.

02 / FRANCE PROJECT GUIDE

Separate a squash refurbishment from a complete new court

For an existing conventional squash room, survey the retained walls, floor and rear opening. A glass back wall package may be the relevant starting point; it does not include the front and side walls, flooring or lighting.

A new all-glass squash court needs a broader review of the room and component interfaces. If the club remains open during works, show how members will move around the construction area and where glass can be stored safely before installation.

03 / FRANCE PROJECT GUIDE

Give the French importer a defined goods schedule

French Customs explains EORI registration for businesses carrying out customs operations. Confirm the importing entity and the relevant registration and representation arrangements before dispatch. French Customs EORI guidance ↗

Ask the importer to review the descriptions and classification of the court components. The commercial identity of a Singapore supplier should not be confused with the origin of goods manufactured in China. Ensure the shipment information matches the agreed equipment scope.

04 / FRANCE PROJECT GUIDE

Plan the court handover and the venue reopening separately

For padel court supply, establish who prepares the base, connects services and installs the structure and surface. For either sport, agree the information and checks needed when components arrive and after assembly.

Build the programme around local works, inspections and the operator’s reopening requirements. Ask for the document language needed by the French contractor and facility manager. The delivery date, installation completion and permission to receive the public should be tracked as distinct milestones.

BEFORE PROCUREMENT

France court supply: your questions.

Does a delivered court mean an ERP can reopen immediately?

No. The venue operator and local adviser should confirm the applicable works and opening procedures separately from equipment delivery.

What should a French squash club provide for rear wall replacement?

A measured survey of the opening, retained structure and floor interfaces, photographs, and the handling route through the building.

Prepare your France court brief.

Share the French venue address, existing or new-build status, ERP review contact, court requirement, measured plans and planned closure or reopening period.

Discuss your court project
Local design, permissions, import arrangements and installation responsibilities are confirmed for each project. The sources linked in this guide support the stated local information; planning recommendations are not a site-specific engineering approval.
