World Squash Day 2026: a practical readiness check for squash clubs
World Squash Day is a useful prompt to review how a facility welcomes new players and plans longer-term court improvements.
The industry update
The World Squash Day organiser’s September update confirms 10 October as the 2026 date and points clubs towards participation ideas and a global match initiative.
Use a participation event to learn about the facility
An open day can reveal issues that regular members have learned to work around: unclear arrival routes, crowded waiting areas or poor information about how to start. For club operators, observing these issues is a useful first step before deciding which facility improvements matter most. Event attendance alone should not determine a court expansion plan.
Separate operational changes from construction needs. Better session scheduling may solve one problem, while worn components or an unsuitable layout need assessment by qualified people. If a glass back wall upgrade is being considered, document the existing court and obtain a specific scope rather than treating the work as a generic replacement.
Before you specify a court
Keep a list of the changes needed for the next operating season. For a court supply discussion, include the facility location, photographs or drawings you are authorised to share, and a description of the existing walls and floor. VELNUZ can review the supply request for a complete glass court or a rear glass wall package; the final installation plan depends on the site.
