Dubai joins a busy junior padel weekend: lessons for UAE club planning
A FIP junior-circuit update provides a useful starting point for planning padel facilities serving young players and families in the UAE.
The industry update
FIP’s 9 October update names Dubai, Taastrup and León among the hosts of a busy FIP Promises weekend, alongside Bandung. The report covers activity on the international junior padel circuit.
A junior programme changes the facility brief
For UAE padel club developers, a junior event is a reminder to consider who uses the spaces outside the court. Coaching groups, accompanying adults and players waiting for their session can arrive together. Plan clear routes between reception, courts and waiting areas, rather than treating every spare strip around the enclosure as circulation space. These are design considerations, not reported features of the Dubai event.
Indoor and outdoor proposals also require different operating plans. Discuss environmental conditions, opening hours, shaded or conditioned waiting areas and maintenance access with the local design team. These decisions should inform the site layout before the padel court system is selected.
Before you specify a court
Prepare a brief stating location, intended user groups, court count and site restrictions. Ask for foundation and installation interfaces to be identified separately from the supplied enclosure. For a UAE project, confirm local approvals with qualified advisers; a tournament announcement is not evidence that a particular supplier or court model is approved.
